Student Dress Code

These are guidelines of the dress code that apply to all students.  Since all styles cannot be considered in this policy, the following will apply.  If a particular style of clothing or fabric is NOT listed in this policy, it is considered non-acceptable.  Final ruling of questionable attire is the responsibility of the principal.  Special exemptions of the code may be allowed for special occasions.  Watch for announcements of these days.

  • This dress code will be in effect from August 2009 through May 2012.

  • When an item is worn which is out of dress code, a parent will be called to bring a       replacement garment.

Slacks, Skirts, Jumpers, Shorts, Skorts, and Capri Pants

Acceptable Colors: Solid Navy Blue, Black, and Khaki. No green or brown khaki.

  • Must be neat – no holes or frayed bottoms or cut-offs.
  • Must be loose fitting and modest – no baggy or oversized items.
  • Must have belt line riding no lower that the top of the hipbone.
  • No hammer loops, rivets, appliqués. or decorative metal embellishments..
  • If belt loops are provided, a belt with a buckle must be worn and visible. Plain belts may be any color.
  • A manufacturer or name brand logo on clothing must not be larger that 2” x 2.”
  • Slacks are to be no longer than the top of the shoe.
  • Shorts, skorts, and Capri pants may be worn during Daylight Savings Time only.
  • Skirts, skorts, and jumpers must be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee when kneeling.

Shirts, Blouses, Sweatshirts, Sweaters, and Vests

  Patterned Shirts with Cap Sleeves

A manufacturer or name brand logo on clothing must not be larger that 2 inches by 2 inches

Shirts and Blouses

  • Must be button down oxford or polo style
  • Must have sleeves
  • Must have visible fold-over collar.
  • Must be properly buttoned or snapped.
  • Must be long enough to be tucked in at all times (even when seated or raising a hand.
  • Must not wear a shirt with long sleeves under a shirt with short sleeves.
  • T-shirts or turtlenecks are permitted only as an undershirt.
  • Spirit Attire is allowed.
  • DARE, GREAT, and Just Say No shirts are allowed for students involved in these programs.
  • Must be loose fitting. Tight shirts are not permitted.

Sweatshirts, Sweaters, and Vests

  • Must not be oversized.
  • May be crew, v-neck, cardigan, or zippered style.
  • Must not hand below the buttocks.
  • Must not have a hood.
  • Sweatshirts must have a wide band at the bottom.

Miscellaneous

  • Facial make-up may not be worn.
  • Tights or socks above the ankle must be worn. Pantyhose are not allowed.
  • Soft soled shoes, boots, or tennis shoes must be worn. Shoes and boots must have a back with heels no higher than1 inch. Sandals and Crocs are not allowed.
  • Boys are not permitted to wear earrings during school hours or at school functions.
  • Girls may wear small post earring only. Dangling or hoop earrings are not allowed.
  • Visible tattoos and other body piercings are not permitted.
  • Coats, jackets, fleece pullovers, or any outside recess wear may not be worn in the classroom.
  • Hair should be neat, clean, and well groomed (no shaved designs or unusual hair styles are acceptable). No unnatural hair color.
  • Necklaces may be no longer than 18 inches, small in size, and in good taste.
